in 1938, Sun Weiru, chairman of Shaanxi Province, a famous general of the Northwest Army under Yang Hucheng, led the 31st Legion of the National Revolutionary Army to the Anti-Japanese War in Zhongtiao Mountain. In the following two years, Sun Weiru commanded the 31st Legion (later adapted into the 4th Group Army) to fight a bloody battle in Zhongtiaoshan, repelling more than 10 Japanese attacks on Zhongtiaoshan, and successively 21000 Guanzhong soldiers died heroically in the defense of Zhongtiaoshan.
